How to Make Essential Oils Blends to Solve Common Problems

How much do you love your essential oils? They’re pretty great, right? Diffusing some of your essential oils into the air you breathe helps to eliminate free radicals, relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergies, improve your mood, decrease stress, and, well…the list goes on and on.
Using some of the oils topically can speed the healing process, lower blood pressure, ease discomfort, and, that’s right…this list goes on and on as well!
After getting the hang of using your essential oils for some basic uses, you’re probably ready to move on to the next step – blending oils for maximum benefits.
It can be a bit tricky to decide which oils to use together to get the benefits you are looking for because using the wrong ones for the wrong uses is a little like throwing money down the drain. The best advice is to read up on the specific properties of each of your oils so that you will know which ones to use and how to use them.
If you’re feeling giddy with anticipation over learning some fabulous new ways to use your oils, you’re not alone. In fact, we spend so much time researching and testing various blends and recipes that we just couldn’t resist putting together a master list of problem-solving blends to share with you.
Listed here are 15 common problems we need solutions for every day and the exact essential oil blends you can use to solve them.
If you want to keep some of these blends on hand for quick use, you’ll want to make sure you have a few things ahead of time: carrier oil (such as grapeseed or coconut), purified water, roller bottles, spray bottles, small glass jars and a small funnel.
Some basics: for recipes that require a roller bottle, you will want to drop the recommended essential oils into the bottle and then, using the funnel, fill with the carrier oil of your choice. Unless otherwise stated, roller bottle blends work best when applied to the inside of the wrists and the bottoms of the feet. For the spray bottle recipes, you will drop your oils in and then fill with water (preferably purified). Jar recipes are whipped with about 500 mL of organic coconut oil.
There are also some blends here for your diffuser. For those, be sure you’re familiar with your diffuser’s directions. If you have a smaller diffuser, it may require a little less essential oil than the blend calls for. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

Everyone is different and some combinations may work better for you than others. Always take into consideration any allergies you may have and in most situations, use smaller amounts of essential oils on children.
Most importantly, when you have a health or household problem that arises, do some research to see if there is a natural solution like one of these. New uses are being discovered every day by oily mums just like you!
