4 Essential Oils for Joint and Muscle Pains

joint and muscle pain

Out of the many of the uses that aromatherapists use essential oils for, treating joint and muscle pains and/or spasms are amongst the most popular health issues that essential oils are able to treat.

Muscle pain can be felt anywhere in the body, from your head to your feet. Spasms are typically experienced in the limbs, but it isn’t uncommon for stomach muscle spasms to prevent you from living your daily life.

If you frequently struggle with joint, muscle pain or spasms and would like to find a pure treatment alternative to medicines, we’ve shared four of the best essential oils that can be used to treat the issues you may be experiencing:

1. Grapefruit Oil for Muscle Fatigue

For years, grapefruit oils have been massaged onto the skin where a muscle is feeling fatigued as a way to promote strong and energetic muscles and eliminate fatigue and weakness.

Grapefruit oils can be used to relieve muscle fatigue in the head, abdominal and joint areas. They can also be poured into the bath to give all of your muscles a chance to naturally revive themselves.

2. Eucalyptus Oil for Poor Circulation

If you’re suffering with poor circulation throughout your body, opting for a eucalyptus essential oil to be massaged into the skin is a great choice to aid with the health issue.

Eucalyptus oils contain anti-inflammatory properties, which help to reduce the amount of swelling inside your body that could be causing the poor circulation. This oil also contains strong analgesic properties, which helps to treat and cure pain relief that often associates itself with bad circulation.

3. Clary Sage Oil for Aches and Pains

Because clary sage oils contain chemicals that regulate the hormone levels in your body, they have been used to treat stomach aches and pains that come as a result of the menstrual cycle.

Clary sage oils contain antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties, so massaging them onto areas of your body where you’re suffering with aches and pains can help to relieve the area.

4. Peppermint Oils for Neuralgia

We’ve mentioned previously that peppermint essential oils are seen to be the ultimate oil for giving your internal organs a full workout, and they’re excellent for treating neuralgia.

Neuralgia is the painful stabbing or burning feeling that comes as a result of a damaged or broken nerve. Peppermint oil is excellent at treating this condition because it allows the body to relax and promotes calmness in order for the broken nerve to heal.

A selection or combination of these four essential oils is bound to provide you with the fragrances you need to complete a full recovery from your joint and muscle pain.
